By the time we learned about the new Directive, our pots had already been ordered and prepared for planting. The relevant trade associations had not informed our nursery about the new EU Directive in time.
Our GLOBALG.A.P. certification includes on-site checks of environmentally responsible practices at our nursery. We can demonstrate that we use substrates with 60% less peat, biological plant-strengthening products to reduce the use of chemical plant protection products, and no products harmful to bees. We also reduce the use of fertiliser, water and energy through adapted working and growing practices.
To avoid creating additional waste by replacing the pots used for plants already in cultivation and disposing of the old pots, we will continue to sell the plants in their existing pots during October and November 2026.
The German environmental organisation "Deutsche Umwelthilfe" currently recommends avoiding additional waste and using up existing packaging stocks.
All subsequent cultivation batches from November onwards are being grown in pots printed in accordance with the EU Directive.
